Snowbound Farms

Hi, and welcome to Snow bound Farms.

My name is Christina and I run the farm with the help of my husband Steven and our three children; Vincent, Victor, and Garnet. I started this site to give insight to other greenhorns out there crazy enough to want to homestead. We moved up here to beautiful northern Maine in March 2008 and bought a modest home on 165 acres that is now Snowbound Farms. The farm was previously only used to grow crops, but starting this spring we plan to introduce chickens and goats, and over time some cattle and sheep. Additionally this year we will again be planting half an acre of market vegetables, and possibly raising angora rabbits and honey bees. All this and we will still be working on our money pit of a house, building barns, and raising fences. Follow along with our progress on becoming more self sufficient while following a Christian Path.
